RUTH, Ernest Anthony

Of Cambridge, passed away, on Wednesday, June 13, 2001, in his 79th year. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Thelma (Dolly) Zimmerman. Loving father of six children, Larry, Norbert, Angela, Therese Klotz, Patricia and Shelley Hunt. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Before retiring, he was employed at the Preston Post Office for 32 years. He was a life member of Preston Legion Branch No. 126 and had served in the Navy, during the Second World War. Ernie was born in Hepworth, Ont., the son of the late Anthony Ruth and Josephine Beninger. He was predeceased by seven brothers and two sisters. He was a member of St. Clement's Parish, Preston. Friends will be received at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, on Friday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be recited at the funeral home, at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian burial, will be celebrated at St. Clement's RC Church, 745 Duke St., Cambridge, on Saturday, June 16, 2001, at 10 a.m. Interment in Park Lawn Cemetery.
