Paul Kendrick, Sr., age 76 of Magnolia, passed away June 13, 2020. The Addison family and staff of Magnolia Funeral Home extend condolences to his family during this difficult time.

Paul Theodore “Ted” Kendrick Sr. passed away at his home in the arms of his eldest son Paul Theodore Kendrick Jr. on June 13th, 2020 at the age of 76. Ted lived in Magnolia, Texas with his wife Elizabeth Hayes-Kendrick.

Ted joined the United States Navy fresh out of high school in 1961 at the age of 17 and retired after 20 years of service for his country. He served in the Vietnam War where he received the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon. He also received a Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Medal, numerous ribbons and more. While serving he worked his way up the ranks on the USS Belnap, USS Oriskany, USS Hoel, USS Manley, to name a few. Following retirement, he then became a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4709 in Conroe, Texas and VFW Post 2427 in Tomball, Texas.

He was a very prideful and dedicated man and loved the comradery and brotherhood whilst in the Military and went on to join the Freemasons following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. His lifelong friend stated “Paul Theodore Kendrick Sr. of Magnolia Texas laid down his working tools on June 13th, 2020. He served as a past Master of Tomball Lodge No. 1096 and a member of Pleasant Hill Lodge No. 380 in Field Store, Texas. He was a Master Mason for 32 years. “He was kind, caring and an extremely passionate man for his family, friends, and fellow brothers.

Following the Navy he joined his brother Jimmy Kendrick and began his “retired” career as an A/C & Heating Specialist where he worked for 30+ years before hanging up his HVAC hat. Along the way he taught his 3 sons and grandson the trade.

Ted was married to the mother of his children Betty Noreen Harrison- Kendrick for 40 years and together they raised their 4 children with strong family and Christian values. Together as a family everyone had a hand in caring for the family’s precious gift from God, Kenneth Daniel Kendrick. A few years following he met and married his “Queen” Elizabeth Hayes-Kendrick. Together they began a beautiful journey together going on many motorcycle trips across the country on his beloved trike. He will always and forever be her “Tedder”.

Ted was incredibly proud of his Greek heritage and reminded his VERY LARGE GREEK FAMILY that he was the “Paterfamilia” of the family!! He and only he was truly the family Patriarch and will be missed by soo many.

Ted was preceded in death by his father Paul H. Kendrick, mother Olga Theodore Kendrick, siblings Carolyn Lorraine Williams and James “Jimmy” Patrick Kendrick, wife Betty Noreen Kendrick and niece Jamie Kendrick.

Ted is survived by his wife Elizabeth Hayes-Kendrick and sisters Sarah Ann Haley and Mildred Elizabeth Lamonte.

Daughter Melissa Ann Kendrick-Porter and husband Cliff Porter, Paul Theodore Kendrick Jr and his wife Charlene Kendrick, James Richard Kendrick and his ex-wife Deonna Kendrick and son Anthony Keith “Tony” Kendrick and his fiancée Tiffany Jones.

Also survived by grandchildren Stephen Walton, Danny Kendrick, Anthony Kendrick, Morgan McCluskey, Jessica Gilstrap, Joshua “Paul Theodore” Kendrick, Heather Swank, Breanna Teale, Rebecca Kendrick, Shelbie Kendrick, Dalton Kendrick, Colby Kendrick, Bentley Kendrick and great grandkids Noah Swank, Zachery Gilstrap, Reese Gilstrap, Maelynn Gilstrap, Colton Kendrick, Jaxton Kendrick, Rokki Kendrick, Atlas Walton and Allison Kendrick.

Nephews & Nieces Paul Williams, Dwayne Williams, Angela Lamonte, Caroline Williams, Andy Williams, Dennis Williams, Hailey Parks, Michael Hailey, David Hailey, Jimmy Kendrick Jr, Chad Kendrick, Chris Kendrick, Casey Kendrick, Wendy Darling and Patrick Kendrick.

A viewing will take place on Wednesday June 17th from 6:00pm - 8:00pm with a Military and Masonic Ceremony taking place on Thursday June 18th at 10:00am. A gravesite ceremony will take place immediately following. Family and friends are then welcome to gather after the services at Ted’s daughter Melissa’s home at 503 Meadow Xing, Magnolia, Texas 77355.
