He is survived by his wife, Josie, four sons, Andrew Childers of Bogota; Theodore Childers of Wakefield; Oscar Childers of Flora; and John Childers of Olney; two daughters, Mrs. Berta Sparks of Gila, and Mrs. Amos Barlowe of Olney, and four step-children, Leonard Hammond of Sigel, Gilbert Peters, U.S. Army, Japan, Mrs. Delbert Brooks of Olney, and Mrs. Hartley Foster of Dundas. Also a sister, Mrs. Emma Stone of Lawrenceville and a girl whom they raised in their home, Mrs. William King of Newton.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday at the Passport Church with interment in Wesley cemetery.
