“And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them”. Rev. 14:13

In as much as the Lord has deemed it so to call one of His precious jewels home, our hearts bleed in agony and pain, but we rejoice in knowing that we shall see her again if we keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus..

Today we come together to celebrate the promotion of this wonderful woman of God, from earth to Glory. Mother Dorothy Henry was born on February 5, 1938 in Miami, FL to the late John Henry and Agnes Henry – Hall. She moved to Ocala at an early age and attended the public schools of Marion County.

Mother Henry was employed with the state of Florida as a social worker for ten years and with the Johnson Family for over twenty years.

In the early 70’s, Mother Henry gave her life to the Lord and never looked back. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Sanford Tabernacle of Prayer until she relocated to New York. Upon retiring, she moved back to Ocala and was a faithful member of Meadowbrook Church.

No matter what the circumstances or situations, as a true believer of God, a woman of God, her testimony remained, “With prayer, you can get through anything.” She loved her church family and took pleasure from being in the company of saints.

Today our loss is great and our sorrow is deep, but more importantly, we recognize that this loss is Heaven’s gain. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Eddie Hall; 2 sisters, Carolyn Gallmon, and Gwen Parrish; 1 brother, Roger Jones.

Mother Henry’s legacy will live on through her surviving four children: Michael Henry, Sonda Williams, Antonio Henry, Sr. (Winifred) and Stephan Henry (Scherri). She also leaves to cherish her memories, 3 sisters: Carrie Kellum, Ocala, FL, Connie Jenkins, Summerfield, FL and Rose Henry, FT. Lauderdale, FL; 1 brother-in-law, Robert Gallmon; 9 grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren ; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; God-daughter, Pat McIntyre; Two God-sons: Pastor Tim Gilligan and Chester Webber; Special friends: Mary Sue Rich, Geraldine Holiday and Ms. Dale. Mother Dorothy Henry will truly be missed for her kindness and love for God and people.
