Gus was the son of William Henry Funderburg, (DOB 12/5/1862 - DOD 8/18/1935), who is buried at Good Faith Cemetery, in Jefferson County, Pine Bluff, Arkansas & Elizabeth Taylor, (DOB 1865 - DOD 1903), who is buried at New Hope Cemetery, Grant County, Arkansas. His mother died when he was born or shortly after he was born. The reason she was buried at New Hope in Grant County was because the water was high and over the roads which prevented the family from being able to bury her at Good Faith Cemetery in Pine Bluff.
