He was born to the late Jesse and Mary Lou Hardison Sharp on August 2, 1936. After serving four years in the Navy, he attended and graduated from Tennessee Tech University. He was an original founder of Merihil Nursing Home. He owned and operated Sharp’s Market and Sharp’s Menswear for over 30 years. He was a member of Lewisburg Lions Club, and he was an active member of Westvue Church of Christ where he served as an elder and treasurer for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rheta Haislip. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanette Collins Sharp of Lewisburg, two children, Sanford Collins (Joni) Sharp of Signal Mountain, TN and Susan Sharp (Glenn) Douglas of Franklin, TN, three grandchildren, Forest Sharp of Chicago, IL, Allie Sharp of Boulder, CO, Grace Douglas of Franklin, TN, and his nephew, Mark Haislip.
