Mary Ellen Lloyd Atkins, 83, of Burlington passed away at Authora Care Collective Hospice Home on Thursday, July 2, 2020.

A native of Orange County, she was the daughter of Van Albert Lloyd and Pinky Mae McKinzie Lloyd, both deceased.

She was employed with Western Electric and later retired from Lucent Technologies.

Survivors include three children, Ruby Ellen Atkins (Jim White), Velinda Atkins Isley (David) and Calvin Allen Atkins (Valerie); two grandchildren, Brian Reid (Nikki) and India Ellen Atkins; three great grandchildren, Nick Reid, Addison Atkins and Gunner Atkins; two step grandsons, Nick White (Serena) and Matt White (Kristen); and brother, James Albert Lloyd. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Johnnie Alvis Lloyd, Cliff Harrell Lloyd, Bobby McKinzie Lloyd, Linda Mae Lloyd White and Bernice Wynn.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. by Rev. Ronnie Byrd with the family receiving friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
