The foot-stone of Elizabeth Smith was accidentally discovered by Brad Manzenberger when he was doing restoration work as part of the Banks-Standish Restoration Project 2016 undertaken by Linda Standish.
I do not know the source of the birth date shown on this memorial. The year 1779 would match her death date and age of 59 at death as shown on stone.
November 2022, I was provided with information from a Mr. Scott McMunn regarding the will of a James McMunn of Orange County, North Carolina dated December 1802 that gives Mary as his wife and Elizabeth as a daughter. An 1803 document shows a Robert Smith as executor of this will. I have found this will on Ancestry. Also included in the will are daughter Sarah and son William. On Elizabeth's NC marriage record, a William McMunn was bondsman and witness. This would be her brother, I presume.
