Sherry Roach was born on February 1, 1942, and went to meet our Heavenly Father on July 2, 2020.

Sherry lived a wonderful life and lived her younger years in the Non/Gerty Area. She graduated from Gerty High School in the spring of 1960 and then married Richard W. Roach on May 10, 1963. After marrying Richard, she continued with college at East Central University through the fall of 1963 when she graduated with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Education. Not long after graduating, she started her career as a school teacher. She taught school for most of her adult life and loved being a teacher. She spent most of her career teaching at Earlsboro, Oklahoma, and was selected as the teacher of the year in 1995. She touched countless lives while teaching and had the honor of teaching the children of some of her prior students! Also, after being retired for more than twenty years, she helped her daughter-in-law, Angun Roach, learn to read and write English, along with the needed civics knowledge for Angun to become a Naturalized American Citizen! She felt very proud of her teaching career and accomplishments!

Sherry was a great cook with a knack of making homemade chocolate & coconut pies, as well as cookie sheet cakes. We all loved what she made. She also enjoyed quilting and made countless quilts with her mother and sisters throughout her life, most of which she gave to her family. When expecting new grandchildren, she would prepare, design, and make a special blanket for the new grandchild.

Sherry is survived by her husband of over fifty-seven years, Richard Roach, her oldest son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Angun Roach, her two twin sons and their wives, Ronnie and Beth Roach, and Donnie and Tanya Roach. Sherry also left behind fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Silas Priest and Lony Mae Priest, and her sister, Joyce Johnson.

Her funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 6, 2020. The Estes-Phillips Funeral Home will host the service and is located at 123 E. 13th Street in Ada, Oklahoma.
