JoAnn “Jo” (Brock) Pope, 84, of Lake Panasoffkee and formerly of Tampa passed away on June, 30, 2020 with her family by her side. She was born on February 20, 1936 in Bainbridge, Georgia to the late Barney and Gypsy Lee (Butcher) Brock. Jo was the loving wife of the late Bobby Pope until his passing on September 23, 1998. She worked at Walmart for many years prior to her retirement. Jo enjoyed crocheting, crafts, fishing, romance novels, and going to flea markets and yard sales. Most important to Jo was raising her kids and grandkids and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons: Shelton Pope of Inverness, Michael Pope (Joyce) of Bushnell, and Ronnie Pope of Lake Panasoffkee; daughters: Theresa Manley of Kentucky and Rhonda McClung (Larry) of Lake Panasoffkee; sisters: Dora May Smith, Mattie Lee Yamin, and her brother, David Brock. Jo is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Purcell Funeral Home, 114 W. Noble Ave., Bushnell with Pastor Don Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her late husband Bobby Pope.
