"SLOANSVILLE ... A. J. Vanderwerken, Fred and Lee Sweet, all of Schenectady, came on Tuesday to attend the funeral of Robert Vanderwerken ... Robert Vanderwerken, who went to the Albany hospital for treatment for Bright's disease, died there on Saturday, the 18th, aged 35 years. His remains were brought to Sloansville on Tuesday and his funeral was held in the M. E. church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. J. R. Robison, his pastor, officiated. His remains were interred in the Valley cemetery.

The deceased is survived by his wife, two sons, one daughter, his widowed mother, two brothers and one sister, besides a large circle of relatives and friends.

He was formerly a resident of Sloansville and was highly respected by those who knew him."
