Pat was a member of both the American Legion, and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed target shooting at the local ranges. He had a longtime interest in computers and anything technology-related. He always enjoyed motorcycles, and loved rides whether they were short or long distances. Pat had a passion for classic cars, and especially loved working on his 1964 Ford Falcon.
Pat had a great sense of humor, a cutting wit, and was full of sarcasm. He was a proud, strong man and soldier who always provided for his family. Although he had a tough exterior, he still allowed his daughters to put barrettes in his hair during play time when they were young, and cherished hugs from his grandkids.
Pat is survived by his wife, Crystal E. Boyd; daughters, Shannon A. (Jeffrey) Batke and Aileen B. (Nicholas) Hinman; brother, Kenneth L. (Sue) Boyd; sister, Shiela M. Boyd; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence C. Boyd and Sarah M. (McLeod) Boyd and grandparents, Archibald Boyd and Alice (O'Hara) Boyd, and John MacCleod and Cassie McLeod.
Pat was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a loving "Papa" to Devin, Ryan, and Grayson Batke, as well as his grandchild (Baby Hinman) on the way. We know he will keep a watchful and loving eye over them all.
A graveside service with military honors is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2019, at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA 99205.
