He was of the Baptist faith and attended Beacon Baptist Church. He was a retired truck driver and had worked for Harrison Transport and Moo-La Transportation. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Walker Harris; parents, Leslie Harris and Carrie Hembry Harris; and siblings, Edna Howard, Vance Harris, Leslie Harris, Jr.
He is survived by his two children, Kimberly Sue Couture and husband, Hector of Cleveland and David Lee Harris and wife, Christine of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren, Leslie, Austin, and Ryland Couture, all of Cleveland, and Ashley and Bailey Harris, both of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Becky Wayne Sullivan of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
