Dana Ralph Green, born April 14, 1953, in San Francisco, California, passed peacefully in his sleep on June 26 in Columbus, Indiana, at the age of 67.

Born the sixth of seven children to Florence Chasteen and Ralph Green, Dana was raised in Seymour, Indiana. It was there that his love for performing music was born. Being heavily influenced by the Beatles and other early Rock groups of the 60’s Dana would become fluent in guitar, bass, keyboards and drums. Dana graduated from Seymour Senior High School in 1971 and during this time began performing in many bands in the local area, including playing with John Mellencamp, as well as the Midwest and would go on to become an accomplished composer releasing three original solo CD’s of faith and inspiration.

As well as singing of his faith in Jesus Christ, Dana served the Lord by ministering to prisoners. These men saw Dana as an inspiration and in turn Dana was blessed in watching the Lord work in their lives. Dana also worked for the State Highway Department before starting his own construction business focusing on residential housing.

Dana was an avid IU basketball and San Francisco 49ers fan throughout his life. He was a lover of American history, especially relating to wars and the military. Along with songwriting, Dana also wrote two full length books.

In his latter years Dana spent time with his three granddaughters, only daughter and son-in-law.

Dana is preceded in death by his grandparents, Burl and Ethyl Green, Millard and Lessie Chasteen; parents, Florence and Ralph Green and his sister, Martha Green Satterly.

He is survived by his brothers, Gary, Terry, Randy and Mark Green and his sister Sandy, daughter, Alison (Ryan) Johnson and three granddaughters Alana, Arie and Addison Johnson.
