Mr. Samaniego died Aug. 23, 2007, in Carson City. He was born Aug. 6, 1921, in El Paso, Texas, to Alexander Samaniego and Rebecca Terrel.
He married Della on Oct. 5, 1944, in San Jose, Calif.
Before coming to Carson City he lived in Santa Clara, Calif.
He retired from Douglas County. He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-45.
Mr. Samaniego was a member of the Elks Club and Saint Gall Catholic Church.
Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law Michael P. and Becky Samaniego of Minden; daughter and son-in-law Sharon A. and William Sotelo of Carson City; grandchildren Wendy, April, Tina, Greg and Jessica; and five great-grandchildren.
