Paul Raymond (Ray) Brubaker, 78, of 425 North Silverleaf, Gladwin, died Monday, March 31, at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fla. Born in Paulding County, Ohio, on June 17, 1901, he moved to Beaverton in 1903, with his parents. Mr. Brubaker retired in 1964 as a tool and died maker for Saginaw Steering Gear and had made his home in Ellenton, Fla. for the past several winters. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Palmetto, Fla. He was married to the former Lila Haddix on September 24, 1924, in Gladwin. She died November 27, 1963. Mr. Brubaker married Joyce Williams March 20, 1971, in Palmetto.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 5 sons, Richard, Russell and Ralph, of Midland, Murray of Freeland and Robert of Harrison; 4 daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Roszella) Foor, Alice Brubaker and Mrs. Jess (Lotta) Mack of Gladwin and Mrs. Wendell (Angela) Hoover of Grayling; one step-daughter, Diana Williams of Milwaukee; one sister, Mrs. Nora Gruss of Beal City; 4 brothers, Victor and Dennis of Gladwin, John of Clare and Lawrence of Beaverton; 26 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. from the Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Father Joseph Castanier will officiate and burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at the Mathews Funeral Home Thursday at 9 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Wednesday. Gladwin County Record dated 04-02/1980 Column - 3 Page - 2
