Edith Ann "Peggy" (Shirk) Brown, 78, of Independence, Missouri, died on December 7, 2014. She was born on December 18, 1935, in Garnet, Michigan, the daughter of Lawrence Shirk and the former Frances Hicks. As a child she moved to Gladstone, Michigan where she resided until 1972, when she married and moved with her husband to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 2001 they moved to Independence, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her son Kevin Peterson; parents; grandparents, Irma and Frank Hicks; grandson, Todd Wasson; and sisters: Irma Anderkin, Sharon Shirk, Suzanne Alexander and a brother, Paul Shirk. She is survived by her husband, three children, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, four brothers, two sisters, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial service: 11:00 a.m. January 3, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ, Hill Cumorah Restoration Branch, 4516 Phelps Road, Independence, Missouri. Arrangements: Cremation Society of Kansas & Missouri.
