Norman Christopher Evans, a native of Mount Vernon, Alabama, and a resident of Axis, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020. He was 48 years old. Norman was born November 17, 1971. He was a loving father who enjoyed going fishing and making people laugh. He worked as a pipefitter for many years. Norman was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Norman was preceded in death by grandparents, Charlie and Print Cole; mother, Patricia Ann Hysmith; grandparents, Mattie and Governor Churchwell; step mother, Norma Jean Evans; and his sister, Darlene Byrd. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Ryan Evans (Macie) and Trevor Evans; mother of his children, Dana Byrd (Lem); parents, Donald (Bro. Travis) and Allie Evans; special mother, Ola Rivers; brothers, Richard Evans (Haley), Johnny Evans, Richard Byrd Jr (Misty), and Randy Byrd, Tony Weaver (Jill), Martin Weaver, and Lance Rivers (Jen); sisters, Willie Mae Davis (Len), Sonya Johnston (Keith), Ania Hughes (Cameron), Jennifer Reed (Mickey), and Tracie Weaver (Manny); special friend, Christie Trosclair; a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 2pm until the 3pm funeral service Friday, July 03, 2020, at Lighthouse of Praise Church with Rev. Ken Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Byrd Cemetery.
