B. E. Carney, 69, of Eagletown, OK passed away Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born March 3, 1937 in Cleveland, TX to Elmo and Nettie (Lewis) Carney.

B. E. moved to this area in November of 1965. He worked for 16 years at Dierks-Weyerhaeuser as an Electrical Supervisor in Craig, OK and then taught at Kiamichi Tech. Center for 19 years. He married Gloria Hunt on December 20, 1986 in Jacinto City, TX. He was a member of A.V.A., O.V.A., NATTII, and the Instrument Society of America. He was a past member of the Eagletown Board of Education and the McCurtain County Fair Board. He loved fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends. He was associated with the Eagletown Assembly of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elmo and Nettie Carney; sisters, Patsy Lee Jackson and Betty Lou Davis; and son, Patrick Alan Carney, Sr.

B. E. leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Gloria Jean Carney, Eagletown; children, Michael Shane Carney, Eagletown, Vicki Lynn Portwood, Kingwood, TX, Aaron Grigsby and Edward Grigsby, both of Houston, TX, and Deniese Grigsby, Hollidaysburg, PA; sisters Dorothy Mendez, Houston, and Judith Messer, Saratoga, TX; and a host of other family and friends.
