Mildred Morrow Parker homemaker, died Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at her residence in Columbia.

Private family services will be conducted Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Elder Stephen Morrow and Elder Randy Dastrup officiating. Burial will follow in the Morrow Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials to Morrow Cemetery Fund, c/o Alvin Morrow, 4645 Love Branch Road, Hampshire, TN 38461.

Born December 29, 1933 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Connie Ulner Morrow and the late Edna Alice Scott Morrow. She was a 1952 graduate of Hampshire High School. On March 13, 1966, she married Ernest Edward Parker and later sealed their marriage at the Washington D.C. Temple. Mrs. Parker was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she was a former Sunday School teacher, song leader, worked with the Relief Society, and the genealogical library in Franklin and Nashville. She was a former treasurer of the Morrow Cemetery Association, former volunteer with the Maury County Archives and Maury Regional Auxillary. Mrs. Parker was an excellent seamstress, having made dresses and smocking on children’s clothing. Over the years, she and her husband opened their heart and home to many family and friends.

Survivors include her many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Marilyn (Lonnie) Gilliam; brothers-in-law, Dr. Taylor Rayburn, Morris Dastrup, Wayne Clawson, and Richard (Ann) Parker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Edward Parker on January 12, 1998; sisters, Rebecca (Sterling) Callahan, Annie (Carle) McCaleb, Edna (Ned) Vowles, Rachel (Sherman) Massey, Mary Elizabeth Dastrup, Betty Jo Clawson, and Connie Alice Rayburn; brothers, Robert Lee Morrow, and Ulner Scott (Dolores) Morrow; and two infant sisters, Eva Gray Morrow and Dorothy Mae Morrow; and brother-in-law, Jerry (Nina) Parker.

Active pallbearers will be Randy Dastrup, Stephen Morrow, David Morrow, Jeff Boles, Eddie Parker, Bobby Morrow, and John Clawson.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Gaylon Harris and staff, and her special caregiver, Ilaisaane Mahuinga.
