Betty Fayrene Slaughter, 80, of Valley Mills, passed away peacefully at The Atrium of Bellmead Monday, June 29, 2020

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at Lake Shore Funeral Home with Pastor Joey Crenshaw officiating

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 3, at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Burial: Crawford Cemetery

She was born on October 22, 1939, to Lewis Clay Lipsey and Etta Ruth Scott Lipsey in Jonesboro, Texas.She married Robert Bon Slaughter on August 3, 1955.

She was known as Fayrene by most everyone but also as Mama, Ma, Nene to her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and nieces and nephews.

Fayrene had careers ranging from working at Owen- Illinois Glass Plant, Piggly Wiggly, Olan Mills and most recently Parkview Child Care where she was employed until 2018, when she retired at the age of 78. She was a faithful member of Parkview Baptist Church and enjoyed outings with the Single Ladies group.

To know Ms. Fayrene was to love her. She was a sweet spirit and loved her family, friends and church family with all her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; brothers, Henry Lipsey, Willie Lipsey and Jacky Lipsey; and granddaughter, Maylan White.

She is survived by her daughter, Tressa Massingill and husband, Calvin of Valley Mills, Texas, their children, Nicklaus Louis and wife, Kelly and their children, Olivia and Avery Fay of Hutto,Texas, and Adam Louis and wife Kristel and their children Samuel, Benjamin and Emily of West, Texas, and Toni Massingill and daughter Kayla Schrank of Hamilton, Texas. Daughter, Terri Kephart and husband, Jim of China Spring and their children Justin Walts and fiancée, Jessica Underwood and daughter, Everlee of Speegleville, Texas, Jaymie Margiotta and husband, Kyle and their son, Arrison of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Jaycie Walts of Waco, Texas, Cara Bailey and husband, Michael and their sons, Kohlton, Kaleb and Konnor of Paul’s Valley, Oklahoma, Kimberly Peck and husband, Isaac of Budgoszcz, Poland .Son, Alvin Slaughter and wife, Syndi of Valley Mills, Texas, and their children, Ezra Slaughter and wife, Brandi and their children, Charliann and Eli of San Antonio, Texas, Lacey Brown and children, Emeri, Brynlee, Stella and Rebel of Valley Mills, Texas. Son, Donny Slaughter and wife Robin, their children: Clinton Slaughter, Cameron Don Slaughter, Braden White, Camryn White and Macee Slaughter. Sisters: Elaiene Dickau and husband Joe, Mary Tobola and Sara Darden, sisters-in-law, Betty Ann Slaughter and Jackie Slaughter, special friend, Cathy Webb, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers are her grandsons, Nicklaus Louis, Adam Louis, Justin Walts, Ezra Slaughter, Clinton Slaughter and Cameron Slaughter.
