Richard E. Parker, Sr., 89, of Sedalia, died Monday, June 29, 2020 at his home.

Born January 26, 1931 in Sedalia, he was one of eight children of Robert and Mary (Cochran) Parker.

On September 22, 1956 in Harrison, AR, he was united in marriage to Dora Jane Ditzfeld. This union was blessed with six sons and two daughters. Richard and Dora enjoyed 56 years together before her death on December 25, 2012.

Richard served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He held membership in Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. He was a life member of the NRA. He retired from Pittsburg Corning after 40 years. His hobbies included deer hunting, bowling and reading.

Surviving are six sons, a daughter, thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, and two sisters.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter at birth, Deborah; a brother, Tommy; and a sister, Betty.

No services are planned at this time.

Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
