Princess Joséphine Caroline of Belgium was the youngest daughter of Prince Philippe, Comte de Flanders and his wife, Prinzessin Marie von Hohenzollern. She was an older sister of Albert I of Belgium. She was married in Brussels on May 28, 1894 to Prinz Karl Anton von Hohenzollern, third son of Leopold, Fürst von Hohenzollern, and his wife, Infanta Antónia of Portugal, by whom she had four children. Princess Joséphine Caroline entered a Benedictine convent in Namur, taking the name of Sister Marie-Josephine, and remained a nun for the rest of her life. She is buried in the Couvent des Soeurs de Notre-Dame (Convent of the Sisters of Our Lady) in Namur.
