Dena Rae White, age 66, of Petersburg, WV passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Grant Memorial Hospital.
She was born August 18, 1952 in Wheeling, WV and was the daughter of the late Arthur Clarence and Harriet Jane Jackson Woods.
Dena graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School, Mount Pleasant, OH in 1970. She attended Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1973. She retired from Grant Memorial Hospital in 2007 after 20 years of service in various departments. Dena grew up in a musical family, who sang together at various churches in the Ohio Valley. She enjoyed many creative activities, including card making, scrapbooking, sculpture, writing poetry, and painting. Dena and Gary traveled to visit family, and historic sites to expand their study of genealogy.
Dena is survived by her husband of 36 years, Gary L. White, of Petersburg, WV; her son Danny and wife Jennifer Nutt of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; two grandsons Cooper and Troy; son Gregory and fiancé Tonya of Meyersdale, PA and grandchildren Brittany, Sarah, and Connor; her twin sister, Donna Bess and husband Bill Bess of Mt. Pleasant, OH; brother Gerald Woods and partner Joan Sleighter of Bedford, PA; brother Thomas Woods of Dillonvale, OH and several nieces and nephews.
According to her request, Dena's body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
