Union, SC—Memorial Services for Rev. Henry Payne, 78, who entered his heavenly home June 25, 2020, will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Buffalo Baptist Church, 1424 Main St., Buffalo, SC with Rev. James McCary officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 until the time of the service. We encourage those attending to wear a mask and social distancing will be practiced.

Rev. Payne was a native of Great Falls, SC, a former resident of North Augusta, SC, having made Union, SC his home for the past 16 years. Rev. Payne was a retired minister, enjoyed preaching, spreading the gospel and served as the pastor of Denton Baptist Church in Tennessee, East First Street Baptist Church in North Carolina, Fork Shoals Baptist Church, Mt. Paran Baptist Church and Bel-Ridge Baptist Church all located in South Carolina. He was a United States Army Veteran. Rev. Payne enjoyed golfing, fishing, collecting tools and gadgets. He was preceded in death by his parents, L. T. Payne and Sarah Broome Payne.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Patricia W. Payne; two sons, John Payne and his wife Ginny, Townville, SC, Tommy Payne and his wife Tammy, Conover, NC; twin daughters, Ginny Key and her husband Mark, North Augusta, SC and Susie Ruark, and her fiancé Eddie Olszewski, Locust Grove, GA; nine grandchildren, Cole, Jonathan, Steven, Nicholas, Erica, Jacob, Elizabeth, Cassidy and Avery; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Judy Risinger, Columbia, SC; a nephew, Darren Risinger.
