Nicki M. Miller, 78, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully, with her daughter by her side, on June 24, 2020 in Belvidere. She was born on September 4, 1941 in Pineville, KY, daughter to William and Katherine (Hill) Shepard. Nicki married Robert Miller, August 26, 1989 in Belvidere. She worked for GTE and Amerock and attended Christ Lutheran Church. She was a member of Comfort Keepers (Cancer Support) and her Bible Study Fellowship. She loved her grandchildren very much, and also loved the grandchildren of her friends, who often called her “grandma”. She adored her granddogs. Nicki was an active member of her church and enjoyed working on bible studies. She was an avid reader, a crossword puzzle whiz and a queen of the dance floor. She was a talented ceramics painter. She loved to take trips with her family and friends (especially Vegas) and she loved game shows and card games of any kind.
Nicki will be dearly missed by her son, William (Lisa) McNew and daughter, Susan (Gregory) Padron; grandchildren, Katrina and Zachary McNew and Tyler Padron; granddogs, Seamus and Wilfred McNew, Thor Padron and her beloved, Jack- Jack Padron who recently passed away; three great -grandchildren; sister-in-law Joyce (CT) Bowling; nieces, Patricia ( Joseph) Gaudinier and Kelly (Matthew) Hill; grand nieces, Katie (Andrew) Owens, Sarah Gaudinier; grand nephews, Joseph Hill, Justin Gaudinier; great -grand nephew, Carter Gaudinier; and special friend, Sharon Stanton.
She is preceded in death, by her husband, Robert Miller; parents, William and Katherine Shepard; siblings, Della Cheek, James Shepard, Billie Ann Hembree; and niece, Mary-Katherine Hembree.
