Peggy Ann Bell, 62, of Beloit, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

Peggy was born on June 12, 1957, the daughter of Dorothy Mae (Grimes) Owens. She married Grady O'Neal Bell on July 21, 1998 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Grady preceded her in death on March 20, 2013. Peggy grew up in South Beloit, IL and attended South Beloit schools. In recent years she attended and graduated from Blackhawk Technical College earning her General Education Degree (G.E.D.). She had plans to seek more education and further enhance her life. Peggy has worked since she was a young teenager. For several years she was employed at Freeman Shoes, and Frito-Lay both in Beloit, and Accudyne Corporation in Janesville. Peggy enjoyed traveling. She visited Colorado Springs, CO, enjoyed her visit, got a job, and stayed there for over 12 years. As much as she loved Colorado, Peggy returned to Beloit so she could help with the care of her mother. Upon returning to Beloit, Peggy demonstrated her care for others and sought a job and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Sun Valley Nursing Homes in Beloit.

Peggy was a lifelong member of Community Baptist Church in South Beloit. She often provided rides to others so they could attend church services. In her early years at Community Peggy served as an usher, sang in the Community Chorus (Young Adult Choir), and more recently became a member of the Voices of Praise. Peggy was a devoted member of the Women’s Missionary Ministry where she relished in preparing and delivering Thanksgiving Baskets, fellowshipping with church members, serving lunch to the homeless every month, and preparing back packs for the school back pack giveaway. Peggy was committed to learning more about Christ and supporting her church. She would often travel with the church to attend the Rockford & Vicinity Baptist District Association classes. Peggy Ann also volunteered in the church kitchen helping to prepare and serve meals. She enjoyed her family, church events, spiritual performances, concerts, chatting on the telephone, spending time socializing, playing cards with her friends, and loving on her host of nieces and nephews. Peggy made it a point to know each of their birthdays and give them Auntie Love.

Peggy leaves to cherish her memories, three step-children, Robin Hawkins, Anthony Davis, and Delshae Vance; five grandchildren; siblings, Howard (Janice) Owens of Milwaukee, WI, Gary (Kathy) Owens of Rockton Township, IL, Rodney (Cathy) Owens of De Pere, WI, Nina Owens Nichols of Trevor, WI, Rory Owens, and Wanda "Trina" Owens both of Beloit; sister-in-law, Alice (Dan) Evans; an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives, special relationship, Bessie Pryor, and close friends, Willie Hyler, Maggie Ware, Eldora Marshall, Mary Jo Blodgett, Clara Bond, John and Gloria Owens, Estina Brooks, and Linda McAtee. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Bell; mother, Dorothy Mae Grimes-Owens; twin sister, Terri Ann Owens; and infant son, Brent Owens.
