David Paul Newcomb, 52, Dickson City, died Wednesday at home after being stricken ill. His wife of 15 years is Grace Newcomb.

Born in Clarks Summit, he was the son of the late Tracy "Red" and Charlotte Jones Newcomb. He was a graduate of West Scranton High School class of 1981. David Paul was currently a supervisor in the food services department at the University of Scranton where he had been employed for 32 years.

Like his father and brother, David Paul was an avid bowler. He was also a fisherman and an avid Miami Dolphins fan. He was also a dog and cat lover who donated generously to the humane society. Above all he was beloved husband, brother and uncle who meant the world to his family. He dedicated himself to their care and well being. For numerous years, David Paul got together with his best friend Louie and his nephew Ed on Sunday's, although he will be missed by all, they will especially miss him every Sunday.

The family would like to thank both the Dickson City Ambulance and the Police Department for the compassion shown to the entire Newcomb family.

Also surviving are his brother Charles T. and his wife Betty L. of Scranton; nephews Charlie and his wife Carri and Edward and his wife Jenny; two great nieces Paige and Alison; a great nephew Ryan; countless friends incuding Louie Hoffman and colleagues.

He was preceded in death by his beloved pets Willy and Sammy.
