Allen Lycurgus Flanigan, 68, lifelong resident of Woodsboro died Thursday at 10:30 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Hospital, after an illness of two days. Born in Frederick County, he was a son of the late Lycurgus and Florence Powell Flanigan. His wife, the late Evelyn Cashour Flanigan, died 25 years ago.
Surviving are four children, Allen L. Flanigan, near Frederick; Richard E. B. Flanigan, near Thurmont; Thomas G. Flanigan, Twin Falls, Idaho, and Mrs. Daphne Wachter, Woodsboro; nine grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Belva Lenhart, near Thurmont; Miss Edith Flanigan, near Woodsboro, and Mrs. Hazel Burdette, Chambersburg.
He was a member of the Woodsboro Lutheran Church and a member of the Acacia 155, A. F. and A. M. Lodge of Thurmont. He was formerly employed with the Western Maryland Railway shop, retiring several years ago.
