Charles D. Brumley, 57, of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Reid Hospital in Richmond. He was born on November 12, 1961, in Winchester, to Norman and Norma (DeWeese) Brumley.
Chuck was a 1980 graduate of Winchester Community High School. He served in the Indiana National Guard. Chuck worked at Walker Funeral Home, Frank Miller Lumber, and Katy’s Pool and Spa. He also worked at Deerfield Elementary School as a special education aide and coached elementary school basketball. Chuck also played football, wrestling, weight lifting, and boxing. He enjoyed fishing, shooting guns, hunting mushrooms, and collecting antiques.
Chuck is survived by his mother Norma Brumley of Winchester; his son, Jeremiah Brumley of Richmond; his brothers, Rex (Cheryl) Brumley and Greg “Lefty” (Monica) Brumley all of Winchester; his sisters, Sandy Brumley of Muncie, Vonda (Larry) Detro of Winchester, and Terri (Derek Phelps) of Winchester; his nephews, Dustin Detro, Nathaniel Detro, Gabriel Detro, Galen Brumley, and Gage Daniels; and his nieces, Gracey Shawver and Jayleigh Cox.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Brumley.
A service to celebrate Chuck’s life will be at 5:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Wayne Hedden officiating.
