Sarah E. Jenkins, 100, of Newport died Monday, March 13, 2017 at Village House Nursing Home, Newport, RI.

She was the wife of the late Charles E. Jenkins.

Born on April 30, 1916 in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of the late John and Sarah (Woodson) Jenkins.

Sarah was a member of Evangelical Friends Church in Newport, for over 50 years. She loved bowling, and playing the piano, and watching Jimmy Swaggert. She loved tending to her flowers. She was happiest around her family, during family functions. She loved her family dearly. He pride and joy were grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She loved cooking for her family and trying out new recipes for them. She was a very spiritual person, and loved going to church. Her church family was very important to her as well as her blood family. She was loved and admired by all who knew her. She loved her time after church with her many friends.

She is survived by her sons Robert S. Jenkins of Newport, RI and Donald W. Jenkins of Newport, RI. She is also survived 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews and friends.

She was the mother of the late Charles E. Jenkins.

Calling hours will be held on Friday February 17, 2017 from 10am- 12pm, in Evangelical Friends Church 70 Bliss Mine Road in Newport.

Her funeral will be held immediately following at 12Pm in the church.

Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park, Howland Avenue, Middletown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Evangelical Friends Church 70 Bliss Mine Road Newport , RI 02840.
