Patricia “Pat” Ann Crump (née Crawley), 89, died peacefully at home in Fort Smith, Arkansas on June 27, 2020.
Pat was born on November 1, 1930 in Van Buren, Arkansas to Henry Douglas (Allen) Crawley of Morganfield, Kentucky and Corine Ann Otott of Palmer, Kansas.
She was pre-deceased by her parents and siblings: Nadean Ann (Crawley) Harder, Jack Vincent Crawley, Vincent Alan Crawley, and Henri Douglas (H.D.) Crawley, and great-grandson: Riggs Milo Forster.
She is survived by her husband, Allan Curt Crump. Daughters: Corinne Paule (Wanslow) Baker of Fort Smith, AR; Leslie Catherine (Wanslow) Kneeshaw (husband Don) of Gilbert, AZ; and Julie Lenore Wanslow (husband Kenneth Shuster) of Arlington, VA. Step-sons: Allan Curt Crump Jr. (wife Sue) of Maumelle, AR and Gregory Chandler Crump of Oklahoma City, OK. Grandchildren: Andrea Corinne Callahan of Tulsa, OK; Gina Marie (Butler) Forster (husband Alex) of Reston, VA; Hayley Warren Baker of Fort Smith, AR; Nicole Mariah Dobson of Arlington, VA. Step-grandchildren: Carey Elise Crump and Amy Elizabeth Crump of Oklahoma City, OK. Great-grandchild: Rilo Judd Forster of Reston, VA. Foster son: Sheldon Wang (wife Susan, children: Anastasia and Amy) of Fremont, CA. She leaves behind 30 nephews and nieces.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism in 1952 from the University of Arkansas and took graduate courses in Political Science at the University of Illinois, Champagne-Urbana. She worked as a newspaper journalist (Arkansas, Kansas, Illinois), a professional trainer for the Mount Magazine Girl Scout Council, and a personnel manager for Henderson Corporation (Dr Pepper Bottling Company) in Fort Smith. She was an avid supporter of civil rights and was a member of the first Fort Smith Human Relations Council during the mid-sixties. She was a Girl Scout troop leader and was a volunteer swim instructor at the Girls Club for many years. She was a member of the U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 15-5, Fort Smith for 15 years and served on the District and National staff. She was a life-time member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). She was an active member of the Fort Smith Zonta Club for 38 years and the Village Harbor Garden Club. She organized a Spanish language study group that met weekly for 25 years. She studied Spanish at the International University, Saltillo, Mexico, and University of Salamanca, Salamanca, Spain. She was an inveterate traveler and journeyed to all seven continents with family and treasured friends. She was selected by the Mount Magazine Girl Scout Council as a Woman of Distinction in 2007.

Funeral services will be conducted by her grandnephew, Father Kenneth Harder. Due to COVID-19 and health considerations, the funeral service and burial at the Fort Smith National Cemetery will be private.
