Charles R. Starnes, age 81, of White Lake, passed away June 25, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Janice. Loving father of the late Cheryl Clark, Kim (Greg) Teets, Sheila (Tim) Dussia and Charles E.R. Starnes. Proud grandfather of Felicia Clark, Crystal (the late Ray) O'Connor, Monica Kostoff, Ashley Starnes and Rachel Kostoff. Treasured great-grandfather of Ray O'Connor, Sonya O'Connor, Owen O'Connor, Davin Smith, Payton-Marie Smith, Faith Baldwin, Kirsten Kostoff, Sage Proud, Gabriella Tyson and Raegan Kostoff. Dear friend of Shawna and Brian Albright.

To some he was known as Chuck. To others, he was husband, dad, grandpa, papa. As a young man, he was called Sonny. He had a very loving family and lots of friends. He also enjoyed talking to people around the world on his ham radio. He enjoyed the outdoors and all its wildlife. Loved teasing the grandkids, and loved his NASCAR races all the way until the end. He followed politics closely and everyone knew his views. Those who had the opportunity to meet him will surely never forget him. He was known by his family as the most stubborn man they knew. As he would say, blood is thicker than water. Dad, grandpa, papa truly will be missed!

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 11:00am at the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake. Private Burial to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Park.
