On March 20, 1948, in Kirkland, Georgia, God blessed the late Mack Carter, Sr. and Hester Gaffney Carter with Nathaniel Carter Senior.

He was affectionally known as “Nate” by many. Nate was a friend to everyone that he met. He brought vivacity to the saying, “If I can help someone as I pass along, then my living shall not be in vain.”

Nate was preceded in death by his parents; his son Keegan Carter; his siblings Curnis Carter, George T. Gaffney, Jim Carter Sr., Quinous Howard, Sr., Tim Carter, Mack Carter, Jr., Fernell Carter, Almittie McDuffie, Willie Pearl Grove, Wanda Faye King, Tiny Kent, and Lessie Mae Moody.

He leaves to treasure his memories: A loving and devoted wife Lula M. Carter; Five Children; Patrick (Chadina) Carter, Jacksonville, Florida, Tasha (Donald) Hill, Alma, GA 31510, Coretta A. Omotosho, Grand Prairie, TX, Nattiel (NaTasha) Carter, Savannah, GA, and Nathaniel Carter Jr, Douglas, GA; brother, Curtis (Kathy) Carter; six sisters, Hester Joyce Sheppard, Rhoda (Johnnie Lee) Eady, Kattie Mae Moore, Linda Davis, and Donna Carter, all of Douglas, GA and Virginia (Johnny) Walthour of Statenville, GA; Sisters-in law; Florence Carter Jackson, Minnie Carter, Maybell Carter, Marie Carter, Mattie Howard, Louis Gaffney, Susan Mizell, Mary Miller, and Cynthia Davis; brother in law, Tracy Shaw; Fourteen Grandchildren, Kelly Jordan-Armour, Laronica Carter, Deandra Carter, Shayla (Martellis) Curtis, Alphonso/AJ (Shasmine) Thomas, LaShauna Hill, Prince Deshon Hill, Knicole Omotosho, Georquvious Johnson, Ciera Omotosho, Gloria Smith, Promise Carter, Capri Carter, and Myvania Johnson; eleven great grandchildren; Godbrother, Wiley (Mary) Schley and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Nathaniel Carter passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday October 5, 2019 at Young's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Douglas Georgia. Burial was in the Douglas City Cemetery. Mciver Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
