Clarice Marjorie Bauer died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, upon arrival at Community Hospital in McCook at the age of 90.

She was born April 6, 1917, at Seldon, Kan., the daughter of the late Samuel Clifford and Anna (Jader) Ferguson. Clarice grew up at Hamlet and graduated from Hamlet High School in 1934.

On April 29, 1939, Clarice married Melvin H. Bauer at Oberlin. Clarice and Melvin owned and operated the family farm northwest of Culbertson, moving to Culbertson in 1975. They retired in 1983. Clarice moved to Highland Park in McCook in 2003.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson. Clarice taught Sunday School for many years and was also active in the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Beverly Ladies Aid and the True Blue Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin on Aug. 6, 1992; her parents; seven brothers, Carroll, Cleo "Dutch", Dale, Dean, Donald Irvin, and Merle Ferguson; and sisters, Lois Bishop and Twila Carter.

Clarice is survived by three sons, Richard "Dick" Bauer and wife, Susan of Sioux City, Iowa, Ronald Bauer and wife, Vicki of Ord and Barry Bauer of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Judy Schlager and husband, Richard of McCook, Becky Tongish and husband, Joe of Topeka, Kan., and Marci Manhart of Central City; 11 grandchildren, Lori, Kent, Troy, Traci, Christopher, Michael, Lisa, Cassie, Chelsey, Morgan and Lauren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Frank Carter of Grand Island; sisters, Joyce Coe of North Platte and Joan Laumann and husband, Ted of Sterling, Colo.; sisters-in-law, Irene Schneider and husband, Howard of McCook, Jane Ferguson and Lillian Ferguson; and many relatives and friends.

The family will be greeting friends at Herrmann Funeral Home today from 7-8:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson, with Rev. Richard Melano officiating. Interment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
