Julie T. May-Petty

CHESAPEAKE - Julie T. May-Petty, 32, passed away peacefully in her home with her husband Michael at her side, on March 26, 2002, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.
Julie was a lifelong Tidewater resident and was an administrative assistant for Q.E.D. Julie's father, Reide Thomas and her brother, Glenn Thomas, preceded her in death.
Julie is survived by her husband, Michael D. Petty; her mother, Aileen Thomas of Virginia Beach; her sons, Michael Petty, Ryan May, Glenn Reide Petty, all of Chesapeake; her daughters, Courtney Petty and Cristen Petty, both of Virginia Beach; a brother, Lester Thomas of Midlothian, Va.; and a sister, Becky Nienstedt of Dover, Del.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel. The memorial service will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Julie T. May-Petty, to the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, P.O. Box 2156, Norfolk, VA 23501.
