Born in Westerly on Nov. 19, 1946, she was the daughter of the late William "Ed" and Pauline (Cuhrynski) Lord.
Paulette received her degree in business from Johnson & Wales University in Providence. She was also a member of the graduating class of 1965 at Wheeler High School, North Stonington.
Besides her husband Ronald of 36 years, she is survived by her two children, Stephen G. Reed of New London and Sheila M. Reid of Pawcatuck. She also leaves three brothers, James Lord of North Stonington, Thomas R. Knight of Downey, Calif., and Robert Lord of England; three sisters, Mary Suleski, Madge Wisniewski and Muriel Chappell, all of Montville, Conn.; and two grandchildren, Carleton and Justin Reid of Pawcatuck.
She was a communicant of St. Michael Church, Pawcatuck. She also enjoyed gardening.
She maintained an active life even in illness. It was a quality that time and disease could not take away from her. Paulette was always able to lend support to her family and friends. Her greatest joy was providing an active role in her grandchildren's lives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Catholic Church, Liberty Street, Pawcatuck. Calling hours will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Pawcatuck.
