Townsend – George Edward “Ed” Rowe, 69, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of the Golden Isles. He was a native and lifelong resident of McIntosh County and retired from Interstate Paper in Riceboro with thirty years of service, working in the woodyard most of his career. He was a loving family man who never stopped working even after clocking out from the mill. He attended Eulonia Church of God of Prophecy and was preceded in death by a daughter, Lesley Dawson, parents, Carroll and Alma Rowe, and siblings, Dottie, Sadie, Lois, and Hank.

Survivors are his wife, Linda Rowe; daughter, Tammy Rowe; sons and daughters -in-law, Scott Hendrix and Susan, George Rowe and Amber 2, and Patrick Rowe, Sr. and Amber 1; sisters and brothers-in-law, June Rush and Steve, and LeAnn Thomas and Larry, all of Townsend; grandchildren, Addison Rowe, Patrick Rowe, Jr., Hunter Rowe, C. J. Hendrix, A. J. Poppell, and Taylor Dawson; one great-grandson, Aaron Dawson, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Friday, June 26 at 6 PM in the Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Stilwell officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the chapel.
