Linda Kaye (Leatherman) Fleming, 81, formerly of Minden, NE., passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Providence Place Memory Care Facility in Hastings, NE.

Linda Kaye (Leatherman) Fleming, was born March 20, 1939, to Dale & Ivyl Leatherman in the residence of her local Doctor in New Sharon, IA. At age 2, Linda moved to Rock Island IL., and remained there until the second grade upon which they returned to New Sharon, IA., where she graduated high school in 1957. Linda then attended the Des Moines School of Business. She married Phillip Arthur Fleming on February 28, 1958 in Oskaloosa IA. The newly wedded couple then moved to Minneapolis MN., where Linda worked as a stenographer while her husband Phil, attended school. Upon Phil’s graduation they moved to Minden and raised 3 sarcastic, good looking and intelligent children, Kellie, Wade & Monte.

Linda was a long standing member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Through the years she had belonged to The American Legion Auxiliary and the Kearney County Hospital Auxiliary. Linda had worked over 36 years at the Minden Dental Clinic. In May of 2014, Linda moved to Hastings to be closer to family. Linda was an avid reader and loved hobbies such as needlepoint, crochet, camping & playing cribbage.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip A. Fleming (Dec. 2002), and parents Dale & Ivyl (Grant) Leatherman.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Karen (Leatherman) & Les Winkleman of Oskaloosa IA., daughter, Kellie (Dale) Kreutz of Hastings NE., son, Wade (Brenda) Fleming of Hastings NE., and son, Monte (Diana) Fleming of Highlands Ranch CO. Eleven grandchildren, Kalyn (Kreutz) Rieken of Seward NE., Kirsten Kreutz of Giltner NE., Gretchen Kreutz of Lincoln NE., Ethan Kreutz of Trumbull NE., Philip Fleming of Spokane Valley WA., Austin Fleming of China Spring TX., Chelsea (Fleming) Mortensen of Irvine CA., Corban Fleming & Parker Fleming both of Hastings NE., Erica Fleming of Denver CO. & Tiffany (Fleming) Glaze of Littleton CO., as well as 27 great-grandchildren and many extended family and friends.
