Sara A. Helman Miller, 80, of Hummelstown, passed away Monday, June 22, 2020, at her home with her family by her side.
Born in Derry Township on November 24, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Harvey C., Sr., and Ida Mae Woodward Helman.

Sara retired after 38 years of service as the Troop H Office Manager of the Pennsylvania State Police. She was a 1957 graduate of Hershey High School. Sara was a life-long member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Derry Township. She was also a member of Dogwood Acres, Newville. One of her favorite things to do was playing cards; but Sara had also found great enjoyment as the unofficial activities/tour director of the community at her former winter home in Davenport, FL. A genuine and caring woman, Sara was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend.

Sara is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Kenneth W. Miller, Sr., whom she married on August 30, 1958; one son, Kenneth W. Miller, Jr. husband of Jennifer of Hummelstown; one granddaughter, Madisen Miller of Hummelstown; two step grandchildren, Caitlin Royyal (Ti) of Middletown, and Jake Gauker of Palmyra; two sisters, Ruth Keffer and Alice Megonnel both of Harrisburg; one brother, Hugh Robert Helman of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by three sisters, Maryclare Hughes, Alva Shuler, and Barbara Carlton; and one brother, Harvey C. Helman, Jr.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at 10:30 AM in the Sand Hill Lutheran Church Cemetery, Derry Township, with The Rev. George M. Minick, her pastor, officiating.
