Charles Hawley, 69, of Annabella passed away quietly at his Sunday morning, death resulting from heart trouble, after an illness of three months. His wife and children were at his bedside when the end came.

Mr. Hawley was born July 2, 1863, at Pleasant Grove, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Asa S. Hawley. His family moved to Central when he was a boy, and he spent most of his life at Central and Annabella, with the exception of a period from 1919 to 1930, when he and his family lived in the Uintah basin and at Price.

Surviving Mr. Hawley are his widow, Mrs. Nellie Hawey; four sons, Ross, Hawley of Price, Hugh, Kenneth and Garth Hawley of Annabella; and two daughters, Mrs. L. A. Nebeker and Mrs. Bliss Daniels of Annabella; two sisters, Mrs. Geo. Staples and Mrs. Hartley Greenwood of Central. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Annabella ward chapel under direction of Bishop Glen W. Thurston.

Music was furnished by the ward choir under direction of L. E. Davis, with Mrs. Emily Glesdorff at the piano, in addition to a vocal duet by Mrs. J. L. Gleave and W. D. Daniels, a vocal solo by Ammon Roberts, and a vocal solo by Clynn Thurston.

Incidents illustrative of the generosity, the tolerance and the friendliness and high ideals which characterized Mr. Harley's life were related by all the speakers, old friends of the family. The speakers were J. L. Staples of Elsinore, Mrs. May Nebeker of Annabella, Royal Barney of Annabella, President R. D. Young of Richfield and Bishop Thurston.

The invocation was by O. C. Anderson of Central and the benediction by John Nordfords of Annabella.
