She was born Monday November 27, 1922 in Athens, AL to the late William Alexander and Norma Dell Shockley Black.
Willie Belle was a retired Sales Associate with Sears and Roebuck with 30 years of service. After moving to Cookeville, she and her late husband owned and operated Keep-it-Kleen Cleaning Company for a number of years.
She has been a life-long member of the Church of Christ and has attended Algood Church of Christ since 1994.
Willie Belle had a Heart of Gold and was loved by all.
She is survived by three sons, Clinton (Lisa) Snell of Athens, TN, Stephen Sparkman of Baker, FL, Jeffrey (Anissa) Sparkman of Cookeville; 11-grandchildren; 14-great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and brother, Roy Eugene Black of Nashville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Snell SR.; daughter, Norma Jean Hunter; brother, William Black; and three sisters, Illean Broadway, Mary Lou Roberts, and Roberta Candler.
Funeral services were held Friday June 26, 2020 in the chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with John Chowning officiating. Graveside services and interment were held Saturday June 27, 2020 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville.
