IN FOND REMEMBRANCE

The death angel visited our home Friday April, 13, 1934, and took away our dear father and grand father.

Levi Sallee was born July 5, 1853, near Thornfield, Mo. He was the son of Martha and A. S. Sallee. He lived in this vicinity 42 years.

He was married to Sarah A. Griffith Sept 21, 1876. To this union 11 children were born. Nine survive him. They are Richard, Sheridan and Ikie Sallee, all of Longrun, Mo.; Dillia Gladden of Longrun; America Woods of Apache, Okla., Hepsie Burnett, Ova and Joda Sallee of Lutie; and Tommy Salle of Three Brothers, Ark. George and Willie died when small. There are 29 grand children and six great grandchildren, 1 brother, 1 sister and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss.

He died on Friday, April 13, 1934 at his home near Lutie, where he had lived for the past 38 years. For the past 9 years he has lived at his home with the two younger children and one grand child. These years we know have been lonley years as his wife died 9 years ago, but he always seem of contented at home. He would often spend a few days with the other children but was always glad to get back home.

He was converted and joined the Methodist church at an early age, and has lived a true christian life until the Lord called him home. He said he was ready and willing to go but was sorry to leave the children. We know his life has been a blessing to those he met for he was so generous with his kind words and advice to those younger than he. We truly believe that his life will be a living testimony to all. He will be missed not only by his relatives but by all his friends.
Dear father, it is as hard to give you up and we will miss you so, but we must be willing to submit to God's will. Let us live so that we can meet you some day.

Funeral services ere conducted by Bro. T.B. Hobbs and was followed by Bros. Fletcher Haskins and Charlie McCullough. The lessen read was Job, 14th Chapter. Text 14th verse. The remains were laid to rest in the Griffith cemetery.

Father, darling, how we miss you
How our hearts are filled with grief,
How our thoughts do linger yonder
Where we laid you down to sleep.

We know dear father how you suffered
Nor did we hear you e'er complain
And we hope to meet you father,
In a happier world again.

Where we'll spend the countless ages
Ever by our Savior's side,
Where we'll never know a sorrow
And our tears will all be dried.
