Born in Ayr, in the house at the corner of McDonald and Manley Sts., (former Perriman house), he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James S. Black. His father was a bookkeeper at the former Hilborn Factory in Ayr. Mr. Black was predeceased by his wife in June, 1968. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Willis (Carmilla), one son James and five grandchildren all of Royal Oak, Michigan.
