David Sampson, Civil War veteran, died early Monday morning at his home in St Marys, the result of the infirmities of old age. He was born in Pike County Ohio on August 19, 1830 the son of Samuel Sampson and Jane McDowell. Mrs Lydia DeCoursey of this city is a daughter and he leaves behind the following other children. Garrett Sampson, St Marys, Samuel Sampson, Lima Ohio, John Sampson Lima Ohio, Mrs. Thomas (Hester) Lohr of Lima, Mrs. Elizabeth Brincefield of Glenwood Ohio. Mr Sampson was the father of a number of veterans of the Spanish-American and World Wars.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist Church of St Marys. Internment in Elmgrove Cemetary St Marys.
