She was born to James Riley and Frances (Hampton) Pound. She married Douglas Hite February 23, 1879 Wilson County, KS (Kansas marriage record said Mollie E Pound). Missouri dc 13959; informant was her son, Earl Douglas Hite of Butler, MO. From the Bates County Democrat newspaper, April 21, 1938 -- "Mrs. Hite, aged more than 70 years, passed away at the home of her son, Earl Hite in the east part of the city some time early Monday morning. Her death was due to a heart attack which she had suffered during her sleep, her lifeless body being found in her bed about 6:30 o'clock. Dr. Rollins Smith of Rich Hill, county coroner, was called and decided an inquest was not necessary. Funeral arrangements had not been completed Wednesday afternoon." Funeral arrangements were by Culver Funeral Home, Butler, MO.
