Dale R. Gilbert, age 62 of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio, surrounded by his family. He was born September 20, 1954 in Bellaire, Ohio, son of the late Richard and Jean Ann (Behres) Gilbert. He was a graduate of Lancaster High School, class of 1972 and he attended Ohio University.
Dale owned and operated Gilbert Plumbing for 31 years. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 39 years, Jody (Hudnall) Gilbert; sons, Daniel Gilbert (Sarah Hemmelgarn), of Columbus, Aaron Gilbert (Maggie Neighbor) and Brendan Gilbert of Lancaster; granddaughter, Maddie Edgar; sister, Debi (Richard) Turner; aunts, Helen Fekete, of Martins Ferry, and Dorothy Gilbert of Lancaster; father and mother-in-law, Joe and Ann Hudnall; many cousins, and friends that turned into family.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 132 S. High St., Lancaster, Fr. Craig Eilerman, Celebrant. Cremation will follow.
