Preceded in death by parents, wife Sue, and brothers Arthur and Markel. Survived by sons: Derek and Kevin; grandson Kevin Jr.; sisters: Opal married to Donald Hagans, Kantner, Frances Weyand, Stoystown, and D. Jean Shaffer, Hollsopple; sister-in-law: Betty Rose, Gambrills, Md.; special nephew Donnie Hagans who resided with him, and several other nieces and nephews. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a Purple Heart recipient. He enjoyed fishing and boating.
