WINSTON-SALEM -Edna Beeson Howard, 94, of Winston-Salem passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born May 21, 1924, the daughter of the late William and Eva Beeson. Mrs. Howard was a lifelong member of Crews United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, 1st Lt. Harley Holman, who was killed during World War II and later her second husband, Lester Purvis "Doc" Howard; brother, Jack Beeson; and two sisters, Thelma Fleming and Lois Beeson. Survivors include her daughter, Cherry McCuiston (Tom); three sons, William Howard (Barbara), Pete Howard (Margie) and Joey Howard; granddaughter, Laura Hannah (Matthew); four grandsons, Brian McCuiston (Ann Marie), Derek McCuiston (Beth), Matthew Howard (Katie), Sam Howard (Blair); and great-grandchildren, Emma McCuiston, Olivia and Jackson Howard, Jake and Luke Hannah, Maddie, Benjamin and Graham Howard. She is also survived by a special sister-in-law, Louise Beeson. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Crews United Methodist Church with Rev. Ashley Cyre officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crews United Methodist Church, 4150 Reidsville Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
