Donald Thomas Holman Sr., 88, of Ooltewah, TN passed away on June 21, 2020. He was born on January 28, 1932 to the late Daniel Thomas Holman and Midred Mae Holman. Don was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He will forever be remembered as being a loving and caring man who could strike up a conversation with anyone. He loved taking care of others, especially his family. Don was also a devoted man of God who was very passionate about his church, Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and many of the children knew him as “The Candyman.” He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 64 years, Rosa; two children: Rena White and Donald Thomas “Butch” Holman Jr; siblings: Janice Magby (Benny) and Anna Mae Price (Earl); grandchildren: Richard White (Gabe), Casi Hodges (Ryan), Courtney Kaminsky (Andrew); four great grandchildren: Will Hodges, Kati Hodges, Jonathan White, and Catherine White. Don also has one more great grandchild on the way.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Thursday June 25, 2020 at Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00pm at the church with Ryan Hodges and Ricky Kesley officiating. Don will be laid to rest at Lee Cemetery.
